Gold Cup winner trades at 999-1 on Betfair!
With 17 days to go before the Cheltenham Gold Cup an infection seemed to have ruled well fancied contender Kicking King out of the race. Following owner Conor Clarkson's news that the horse would be a non runner due to a dirty scope the price drifted to 1,000. Kicking King then made a remarkable recovery in time to enter and win this most prestigious of races. Five lucky punters took this price with one winning £10,000 and another Chris Trinder of Newbury winning £25,000 for an outlay of just £25. He told the Racing Post “I had no inside knowledge, but thought there was a chance he could recover.” As always behind every story of a winner there is a loser, and one Betfair punter lost £15,000 trying to win £15, apparently the second time he had laid a 1,000 winner.

Betfair see another 1-100 rugby league turnaround
For the third time in four rugby league matches screened live on Sky Sports a 1-100 Betfair-traded loser has been beaten.
Wigan started the ball rolling when throwing away a 27-12 lead with only 10 minutes remaining against the Bulls last Friday, and Oxford went down 17-16 in Wednesday's televised Varsity match after establishing a 16-0 supremacy after 54 minutes.
However, St Helens staged the most staggering comeback of all after trailing 16-4 with only six minutes left on the clock, scoring three tries in a pulsating finish to edge to a 18-16 victory.
