Bet Exchange News, the foremost specialist news provider on the betting exchange revolution have announced a strategic alliance with the foremost employment specialist for the betting industry www.bettingjobs.com

Mike Cooksedge editor of Bet Exchange News explained "I was delighted to be approached by David. We are both independent young businesses in one of the most exciting and vibrant industries of the moment. We have the opportunity to grow together in a spirit of mutual promotion and co-operation and are looking forward to exciting times ahead."

Introduction to bettingjobs.com

For many years any person looking for employment in betting shops or credit offices would scan the classifieds in the Sporting Life or more recently the Racing Post. These usually appeared perhaps once a week. Thanks to the internet and the vision of a young Scottish entrepreneur there is now an alternative, a website which caters not only for job seekers but also for companies looking for staff with the best credentials.

Bettingjobs.com is the brainchild of David Copeland who has worked in the recruitment industry since graduating from Strathclyde University Business School in Glasgow. It was when he was asked to handle the recruitment for a major internet bookie that he spotted the opportunity:

"The idea evolved because of the lack of a specialist medium for companies to find suitable staff in the gambling industry. Other professions are well catered for and if there is one industry that is growing at a phenomenal rate its ours."

The decision to launch the site was made much easier for David as he has a passion for sports and betting. David recognises he is lucky to work in an industry that he enjoys so much, with people he has much in common with. Whilst the first few minutes of every conversation are spent on the serious side of business, the conversation invariably turns to the latest sporting event or the ups and downs of Partick Thistle!

Less than six months into the project and it appears that David's vision has been vindicated. Its early days but the team has already grown to four full time employees, and they number most of the big names in the betting industry amongst their clients. Crucially they have built up a list of 10,000 betting industry employees which David considers to be a major milestone:

"We have reached the critical mass of candidates on our books, so that we know that given a commission we are able to email all suitable candidates on our list and have a high degree of confidence of attracting a suitable candidate."

The next step for bettingjobs.com is to focus on the casino side of the gambling industry. When the new Gambling Bill becomes law, the casino industry will see massive growth overnight which will create enormous challenges for those trying to staff their businesses in an increasingly competitive environment. Bettingjobs will be well placed to make this process as smooth and painless as possible for the casino operators whilst helping the employees maximise their opportunities in the new market place. Given the international nature of the internet and Bettingjobs clientele, they will be perfected poised to assist with any labour shortage by matching UK operators with skilled casino staff from all around the world.
