30th March 2001 - issue 3

Welcome to Issue #3. It's a bit later than I hoped, unfortunately I've been ill and had to focus on other commitments, however as this is effectively two issues in one, I have made it a bit bigger, I hope it's worth the wait. As promised in issue 2, I am concentrating on F1 Grand Prix in this issue. How many of you backed Hakkinen to get the fastest lap in Malaysia ? My research on f1db.com showed that last year he got twice as many fastest laps as Michael Schumacher. Despite this I asked for and got 7-2 on Flutter. Having had an awful race he came in for new tyres and broke the fastest lap on consecutive laps, clearly he had something to prove, thanks Mika, thanks flutter!

In the last few weeks I've been getting familiar with the bookie free betting site Play121.com. Read my review below. There is also a feature about the importance of controlling your stakes, crucial if you are going to protect your bank and ensure long term growth. Finally there is a feature about the possibility of insider betting on these sites.

On flutter and Play121 you can send a message with your bet acceptance. I enjoy reading these. Sometimes you get a message which is amusing, and sometimes banter which verges on abuse. This was the case recently when someone agreed to give me 9-2 against England beating Spain by 2+goals, and then gave me 6-4 against there being 3+ goals. Both bets were accompanied by some pretty abusive language! My skin is too thick to get upset by anything like that, but it did give me extra pleasure when I won both bets, and relieved him of about £70. The reason I mention this story, is that I won't forget this person, and if I see him offering a bet in the future it will be very tempting to accept it (accompanied of course by a gloating message!). Could it be that this is something he does as a deliberate tactic to get more bets accepted in the future? To be honest I doubt if he had the intelligence, but it is a technique that could be worth considering. It will help to get yourself noticed and help maximise the number of your bets that are accepted. Be careful though, if you go too far you might get thrown off the site!
Anyway down to business.....happy reading.
