Introduction

20th August 2001 - issue 6

Many of you who have been kind enough to feedback your thoughts on the newsletter have complimented me on how well balanced it is. I have always felt it was very important to make readers aware of the downside of bookie free betting as well the enormous opportunities it offers. I therefore recommend you pay particular attention to my article below about my betting on pole position for the German Grand Prix. Through a combination of complacency, lack of discipline and above all a general failure to observe my own rules, I suffered a loss which was completely disproportionate to the profits I was seeking and was well in excess of anything I had experienced previously. Whilst I wish that I didn't have to write this article I felt it was essential for me to fully analyse where I went wrong to ensure that it never happens again, and also to protect the readership of this newsletter from making the same mistakes.

I also feel that this is an appropriate time to revisit the techniques which can be used to bet profitably on these sites. Articles number 6 and 7 look at the effective techniques which will bring you long term profits, and the difference between a disciplined bookie free better and a gambler who is likely to suffer the same fate as the vast majority of gamblers in the past.

The bookie free revolution continues to grow at an extraordinary rate. In addition to absorbing the Flutter racing exchange the market has grown to the extent that Betfair is now matching £3million+ a week in horse racing bets. Flutter have now extended their exchange service to incorporate other events including formula 1, tennis and some soccer matches, with no doubt many more events to follow. A major development this month is the launch of two new bookie free sites, which I discuss briefly. I also take a look at developments at Play2match and am delighted to bring you a special offer which is completely exclusive to Bookie Free Newsreaders.

I also bring you a quick summary of how the recently published gambling review has dealt with the p2p sites and take a look at the role the mainstream bookies have to play in your bookie free activities.
